Dear KVINNEFRONTEN friends,

I could not record my message, because I don’t know how to do it.

I really hope someone can read this letter out loud at the festival. We just want to let you know that from our organization we are sending you all the best for the festival, we really hope you can meet all the goals and purposes you have set up for this and future activities.
This year we celebrate 20 years of work in Peru. It could not be a reality without your valuable support.

Our work started in 1995, when we made a cd where we included news and articles from 1970 to December 1996 about women in Peru. 75.000 articles, leaflets, news clippings, posters. This material was received in a very positive way, and it is still in use, because it’s a very powerful tool of information.

In 1997 we started our work with Women`s information Network (its name in Spanish: Red de Informacion sobre la Mujer), the achievements of this network has been possible thanks to you support. Now, the information that is sharing through our network is used by students and professionals all over our country. The network is also used by women’s organizations, both as a source of information  and as scenario for work and share common experiences with other women that are working in different regions of the country. All this job was not possible to do without your help and support, thanks you very much again for that. 

From 2006 to 2013 we developed projects about “the new perspectives of Peruvian women about sexual violence”.We had newsletters about this topic and a radio program broadcast in 6 different regions of the country, our hope is that this program could be broadcasted in the whole country.

In order to increase awareness about sexual violence, we decided to make a documentary called: “Helen Ørvig: feminist, visionary and passionate”. We have worked very hard, all over the country, with all the women who are in our network, and this in favor of the thousands of women that benefits from the information that we share with them in so many ways.

During our journey we have found great colleagues and friends in Oslo and Bergen. Thanks to all of you it is possible that we can help so many women in our country.

And of course, we have to make a special mention to Agnete, the only thing I can say is that there are not anyone like her: fighter, loyal, hardworking, with a very special sense of humor, strong but at the same time so full of tenderness and love. It must exist a Nobel Prize in Feminism for women like her. I am sure that many people who know here as a college and as a human being agree with me that if this prize existed, she will be the first winner.
